I arrived in Catania yesterday for the feast of Saint Agatha. I have filmed this incredible feast over the past ten years and plan to make a documentary film about it. This morning I woke up early at my friend Palmina's house. She loaned me her keys so I could take a walk in the city while she stayed in bed -- it's Sunday. I walked down Via Crociferi and between Piazza Garibaldi and the Duomo I cried for joy. So happy to be here again, and the air is warm, and the coffee is real, and the layers of old stones are showing everywhere.
